CareLynx has been awarded Commonwealth funding to conduct three aged care trials in remote communities across Northern Australia. Carelynx will partner with the following residential aged care providers for the trial:

• Kalano Aged Care Service – Australian Red Cross – Katherine (Northern Territory),
• Yaandina Community Services – Roebourne (Western Australia).
• Hope Vale Aboriginal Shire Council – Hope Vale (Queensland)

The three trials will demonstrate the effectiveness of remote clinical management using a cloud-based technology.

CareLynx’s Executive Care Director, Maureen Fields who has worked for over 10 years with Indigenous aged care residents on remote communities said, “this model empowers communities in the provision of sustainable and culturally appropriate care. It will prepare remote sites for the Single Quality Framework being introduced by the Commonwealth in July 2019.”

The Northern Territory’s Kalano Aged Care Service Coordinator, Sue Pszkit supports the trial saying that “we are really pleased to see the Commonwealth fund this in Katherine as it will allow our staff to record and monitor residents care with any concerns being responded to remotely. Having expert advice to identify or flag a potential risk will help us to proactively meet the challenges in care provision for our Elders in remote sites.”

The trials commence in February and will run until July 2019.
